Bloomberg News has reported that the Home Affordable Refinance Program (HARP) appears to be working.  Since its inception approximately 2.2 million homeowners have been able to use HARP to refinance their mostly underwater mortgages.  Citing a report from the Federal Housing Finance Agency released in March 2013, HARP “accounted for 68 percent of refinancing in December.”  The report also noted, “There were 1.1 million HARP refinances in 2012, double the year-earlier number and exceeding FHFA estimates.”  This certainly is good news for homeowners who are trying to refinance.  To find out how HARP may be able to help you, click here to learn more.
